The Little People of America held its annual conference in Brooklyn earlier this week and has called for the FCC to ban the use of the word “midget” on broadcast TV.
“The word ‘midget’ objectifies you,” said Clinton Brown, 27, of Hicksville, who co-chaired this year’s conference. “Growing up as a little person, because you’re different, you experience the ups and downs of some cruelties and prejudices. How many times have people I don’t know come up to me and wanted to pick me up?”
“It’s not acceptable to call people the N-word, just as it’s not acceptable to call people the M-word…the chosen term now is L.P., or little person.” said Michael Petruzzelli, president of the group’s Long Island chapter.
See that? Grass is always greener. Do you know that Mo’Nique and Ruben Studdard would kill to have people offer to pick them up?! And I must say I’ll be sad to see the word go, it just isn’t as funny hearing someone say “I would slap the shit out of a little person!” when you know in your heart it should be “midget.”

Where does it stop with the censorship? Pretty soon, saying just ANYTHING to anyone will be deemed as “offensive”. The people in this country have gotten so thin skinned it’s sickening.
