Betty White is the wind beneath my wings. It takes a special kind of woman to openly profess her lust for the President and call a Sarah Palin a bitch on late night tv, at the age of 86. Yes, Mz. White is one of a kind, but for all the noted accomplishments Betty White has amassed as a thespian, she has never played host on the legendary sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live (SNL).
Well, one Betty stan is looking to change all that. He started a Facebook group campaigning to get the veteran comedian to host the show. The Betty White Fan Pagesent a letter to SNL’s creator, Lorne Michaels urging him to extend a hosting invitation to Betty. Since then, the fan page has grossed over 300,000 members who have since signed a petition in support of the cause. If granted, White would be the oldest host in SNL’s 35 year history.
People.com reports. “I don’t even know where that came from,” says the 88-year-old star, who’s recently been in the spotlight thanks to a memorable Super Bowl ad and a scene-stealing turn in The Proposal. “That just came out of left field. It’s ridiculous. I don’t think [SNLcreator] Lorne Michaels even knows about it, so we won’t worry about it.”
